Hello All,
I am taking a philosophy class right now that really has me thinking about what it is about music that makes it important.

SO.... I would like to ask you some questions. You don't have to answer all of them. Just tell us what specific question you are answering and go for it. There are absolutely not wrong answers.

Why is music important to you?
What is it about a piece of music that makes it good to you?
Can music benefit everyone? How?
Is there anything that can ONLY be achieved by music? If so, what?
If your school board was debating whether to keep music in the school system and they ask you what good is it, what would you say?

This forum starts with...

To me,.....

To me, music means freedom. When I listen to my iPod, I think of how the artist or band can put what they want in a song to put out a point. For example, the song "Where is the love?" by the Black Eyed Peas to me says why do people want to kill each other and what happened to the peace on earth. This is music means to me. It is a way to express yourself.
