I went to Salisbury about two weeks ago and saw the new 007 movie "Casino Royale". I went into the theater with an open mind about the new actor playing the notorious James Bond, and he actually turned out to be the best one since Sean Connery!! The movie was slow in a lot of spots, but so are many of the other movies. Since the movie goes back and tells the beginning of his "double O" days, u get to see how he becomes who he is. I found it really interesting but it could have been a little shorter with a "2:30" length time!! But overall if you love the "007" movies then this one will not disappoint. Actually this is one of the better ones they have made!!

The books were really cool and even though they were easy to read with simple plots, they were still enjoyable. The movie spent so much time on sappy moments, that there was hardly any time for the fight scenes. And I'm just now noticing that the plot is exactually like Star Wars: A New Hope. 2/5 stars.

@Eragon - I'm sad to hear about Eragon. When I see a dragon movie, I want to see a lot of dragon action. I still want to see it, but I might wait until it comes to a local theatre.
I recently saw a surprisingly good film. It's not new, but it was just released I believe. Adam Sandler's Click. It's a tear jerker, but it is hilarious. It'll really make you think about life.

It made Mary and Joseph seem much more like real people with real feelings and emotions. I absolutlly loved it. I saw Step Up in class and I really liked that (maybe because I dance and I love dancing movies, Center Stage is another good one). Mission Impossible 3 was really good. I never saw one of those before so I really enjoyed it. Happy Feet was funny (any movie were Robin Williams plays 3 characters has to be funny) and Unaccompied Minors was not great. Very Disney Channelish. | | | | Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 100 J | J Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 100 | I went across the bay and seen Happy Feet in the IMAX (or what they want to call an IMAX...it was really just a big huge screen) It was good but my brother loved it.

Dead Man's Chest was, of course, awesome. Personally, I like it better than the first. I saw it in the theatre this summer and just saw it again on dvd.
The Da Vinci Code was great for what I saw of it. (I fell asleep...not from the movie, just exhaustion). I read the book and highly recommend it. It's very quick reading. (The average chapter length is about 2-3 pages). The movie seemed to follow the book very well. It was neat seeing the places that I read about (and ended up searching google for more information).
And today...Return of the Jedi. My favorite of the series would have to be the Empire Strikes Back, but Kornkid gave a compelling argument for Return of the Jedi. I fell asleep again, but woke up for the ewok battle. It was a very powerful moment when Darth Vader is making the decision to help Luke. I didn't like the final scene when they substituted the new Anakin's ghost in place of the actor who played Vader in the film. For one thing...Luke was probably thinking, "There's old Ben, Yoda...and who is that other guy?".

It is a story about how he invests his money into a special type of bone scanner to sell to medical companies..but the companies find that it is an "unimportant luxury", so he loses his entire savings and basically becomes poor. The movie is definitely sad, because as the movie progresses, he starts to lose everything, until him and his son become homeless. I wont ruin the ending but it is definitely a must see, and its one of Will Smiths best performances.

You can see it here: http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony_pictures/spider-man_3/I was a big fan of the comics, and I'm particularly anxious to see this one. I was impressed with Spider Man 2. I think it was better than the first, which is a rarity in films. What is your take on 3? Will it be better than 1 and 2?

The special effects in the movie were one of the best i have ever seen and the fight sequences were incredible as well. Some parts in the movie were kind of corny because Peter has to go through his "Emo" phase to turn into venom, but other than that it was really good. Another problem that could have been fixed was the different story lines being thrown at you during the course of the movie. They should have blended them in better. But Spiderman definitely stands strong up there with the first and second. I personally loved the villains in this movie (Sandman, Venom, and New Goblin (Harry)), they each played their part well and you even get a surprise towards the end from them. Overall i would highly recommend watching this movie for its special effects, and awesome character overlays, but not if you the kind of person who loves acting, cause that is the one thing spiderman needs to work on...but there is always spiderman 4!!! 5/5

All things are possible if you'll just believe. | | | | Joined: Aug 2001 Posts: 663 Jedi Master | Jedi Master Joined: Aug 2001 Posts: 663 | I saw Spiderman 3 this past weekend. I wasn't jumping for joy over it..it was good, but it paled in comparison to Spiderman 2. The plot seemed to be thrown together and patched to cover up holes. For example...the "kiss" scene in the movie...Parker would never have done that, considering how head over heels he is for MJ. Then, to find out she was his lab parter too? It doesn't seem to fit his character. Now, I would have been able to believe it if he was already starting to be affected by the alien suit, but if I remember correctly, this was before he wore the new suit. So..his personality shouldn't have been affected that much.
There were other things that didn't make sense (like green goblin not being killed by the grenade that detonates by his head), but that was the big one for me. I have to agree with you though, the special effects were excellent. They did a really good job on the sandman. I definitely look forward to Spiderman 4.
